Zoe Leigh Gadd founded Dance Ahead in 2008 with a view to bringing high quality contemporary dance and theatre to communities within Carlisle. Between 2008 - 2019 Zoe worked alongside a small team to produce over 25 collaborative projects reaching all avenues of the community through active participation in workshops and creative community projects. Through Dance Ahead, Zoe delivers ambitious creative projects, often in non-conventional venues, embracing dance and creativity to bring people together to share, grow, exchange ideas in fun and safe environments whilst challenging both body and mind. Previous partners include The Lanes Shopping Centre, Carlisle Youth Zone, Multicultural Cumbria, BBC Radio Cumbria (Get Creative), University of Cumbria, Sara Gadd Millinery, Carlisle Citadel Railway Station, Virgin Trains, Big Burns Supper, Barcelona International Dance Exchange and many more. After furthering her career in higher education and curriculum design working across a range of vocational training establishments in the UK, Zoe returns to Cumbria in 2024 and is ecstatic to be home as she relaunches Dance Ahead - Creative Collaboration. Watch this space for exciting forthcoming projects, workshops and interactive experiences to get your creativity flowing.
