What is Carlisle Ambassadors !!!

Carlisle Ambassadors are people who love Carlisle. They are people who support this Cumbrian centre of business, tourism and culture, who want to benefit from a strong and influential network, and are interested in making a difference for the future growth and development of the City of Carlisle and Cumberland

If you are an individual, business or organisation, that wants to make Carlisle and Cumberland an even better place to live, work, invest and visit, then Carlisle Ambassadors is for you.

Carlisle Ambassadors' was established in 2013 to liaise with businesses and enable businesses to talk confidently about what was happening in the city and help support the economic growth of the city. To support the initiatives, it was important to understand what is important to the city – the 'Carlisle Story' was produced and was supported by the brand.In December 2014, external support was secured to drive forward the 2015 Carlisle Ambassadors' programme. Their remit was to ensure that the Carlisle Ambassador programme provided maximum support and benefit to businesses connected with the area and to the City itself.

The programme aims to unite companies, organisations and individuals in a powerful network to change perceptions of Carlisle and raise the areas profile as a prime business location.Feedback from initial meetings in 2015, was that businesses and members wanted more than a networking group and hence projects were developed and partnered with. Projects have included Give A Day To the City, Young Carlisle Ambassadors, GP/NHS Recruitment partnership, membership videos & mentor programme (throughout Covid), promotional wrapping of 2 wagons, Marketing event to name just a few.

One of latest projects is to establish a network of other Ambassador programmes. This project is for us to share best practise, showcase our areas, get help and advice from each other. But there are lots of other projects in the pipeline

Now with over 630 members and 200 to 250 at each event, we are the biggest Place networking organisation in the UK and one of the biggest in Cumbria
