Inspire - Give A Day

When Andy Fearon presented his inspirational idea of #GiveaDayCarlisle involving Carlisle Ambassadors and people across the city collaborating to make a difference, it got us thinking about what the businesses in CA could do specifically to help.

What about if we pooled together the expertise "in the room", and found a way to support those who wanted to set up their own business, who had just started, or who needed a helping hand to reach or define their goals?

So that's what we organised!

Carlisle College kindly agreed to host the event in their stunning atrium, where 30+ businesses gave their time to create "genius bars" providing free and helpful advice to attendees. Experts gave individual talks on areas that can influence success.

We are so grateful to the steering committee, led by Andy Dodds, and to the many who gave their time to support this event. Also a big thank you to Harland's Fish and Chip Shop for providing fabulous food! The feedback on the day has been so positive, and perhaps the most important outcome is that 32 businesses have asked for future mentoring support to help them in their direction. 

​CONCLUSION - COMPLETED. Mentoring programme was a success and lots of new businesses got support
