Carlisle Unity Festival - Colette McQueen of Bespoke Minds reviews the day
Carlisle Unity Festival

I could feel an excitable buzz in the air as I arrived in the town centre on Saturday morning. The sun was shining it was an absolutely glorious day. Exhibitors were so welcoming to one another and keen to start engaging with members of the public from the get go.

Aftab Khan of Awaz Cumbria introduced Patricia Vasey deputy mayor who officially opened the event and presented the winner of the new logo competition with his prize.

Every exhibitor was visited by Patricia Vasey deputy mayor, councillor Colin Glover, and we also had councillor Fiona Robson volunteering with us for the day.

There was a programme of entertainment on all day at the band stand with music, dancing & workshops. In the old town hall there were also photography exhibits, a speak easy, informative talks, even a mini lingo cafe with refreshments for everyone.

Carlisle is enamoured with events like this it shows our diversity and amazing abilities to connect and engage together to share and gain knowledge, help to support those who need it the most and to understand how to do so with dignity and build on that sense of community in society for future events. unity-festival-carlisle-bespoke-minds-review-4
Raising awareness is key for everyone to understand how their role in society is paramount to the building of these events and to develop all friendships, groups, charities, companies and businesses and how it all interlinks and works together for a more integrated future.

My role at the event was to promote how my company Bespoke Minds can help people with the services I offer. I am a Hypnotherapist, a Certified NLP Practitioner and have a Diploma in Life Coaching. I support people to engage with their positive sense of self to allow change to happen, developing a person to become the very best version of themselves from the inside out. I also provide consultations to help clients to let go of any self limiting beliefs, fears, phobias, addictions or past traumatic events.

I love to attend events like this, meeting members of the public and all the exhibitors engaging them with my work. Especially starting new collaborations working together to help each other is such a great way to develop our knowledge and inspire others.

awaz-cumbria-unity-festivalI would relish the thought of us having more events like this, it was a thoroughly inspirational day and everyone who visited the stall holders and saw the entertainment had a fantastic time.

Finally I would just like to say thank you those who made this event happen, Awaz Cumbria, Carlisle One World and Op Shops with funding support of Carlisle City Council and Abbeyfield Society Community First Fund. unity-festival-opshops-carlisle
